The EU Delegation to Russia and the State Hermitage museum organized the "Discover your Europe at the Hermitage" festival to mark the European Day of Languages. On 24 September 2016 a full-day event combined a Europe-themed museum quest and a Fair of Cultures. The programme featured information stands, exhibitions, film shows, language classes, children's studio, lectures, master classes and quizzes, music, theatre, and a photo corner with a red carpet. A professional film studio was also set up in one of the Hermitage halls engaging the public in casting for Romeo and Juliet (tribute to Year of Shakespeare), sound and make-up classes, chroma key filming, and other activities.
