With the support of the EU, four young people from Honduras attend the COP26
Within this Initiative, twenty young people were selected to be trained in climate change and international negotiations. At the end of the training, participants were able to exchange experiences with other youngsters from Mexico, Chile and Costa Rica. In Honduras, they presented proposals considered suitable for the Honduran governmental delegation at the COP26. The best four of them were selected and authors invited to travel to Glasgow, strengthening the Honduras representation during the COP-26.
The four youngsters symbolically received their credentials in an event with the ambassador of the European Union to Honduras, Jaume Segura, where they had the opportunity to exchange on their opinions regarding climate change and the ways for mitigation.
“I’m very honoured to represent Honduras and also very glad this action for youth empowerment is taking place, said one of the youngsters.
The ambassador of the European Union expressed the importance of not only listening to young people, but also allowing them to take the lead in this matter.
