Who we are
The Delegation in Vientiane is one of over 140 EU Delegations around the world.
Our Mission
Following the Treaty of Lisbon, the European External Action Service is responsible for running over 140 European Union Delegations and Offices operating around the world, representing the European Union and its citizens globally.
In Laos, the Delegation has a mission to further improve relations with the Lao government and people in mutual respect and for our mutual benefit, in order to promote peace, security and sustainable development.

Our Delegation
About the Delegation of the European Union to the Lao PDR
The EU Delegations' staff is usually comprised of officials and contract agents of the European External Action Service and the European Commission, local employees who provide valuable expertise on the ground as well as diplomats and experts from the EU countries.
There are about 40 staff members of the EU Delegation to Laos working in different functional teams, namely the Political and Press Section, Development cooperation section, Administrative section, and Finance and Contracts section.
