Chairman's official visit to Poland

From the 9th to the 11th of June, the Chairman of the EU Military Committee payed an official visit to the Republic of Poland.


In Warsaw, General Graziano had the opportunity to meet the Minister of Defence, Mr. Mariusz BŁASZCZAK, the State Secretary – Head of the National Security Bureau, Mr. Paweł SOLOCH, the Minister of European Affairs, Mr. Konrad SZYMŃSKI, as well as General Rajmund Andrzejczak, Chief of General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.

During the meetings the Chairman expressed his appreciation for the Polish contribution and commitment to military CSDP Missions and Operations, and discussed with the military and civilian authorities about the Security scenario in the Eastern Region, stressing the importance of improving European Union defence initiatives, EU-NATO cooperation and, moreover, the development of necessary capabilities to face upcoming threats and challenges.

The Chairman had the chance to visit the War Studies University that contributes to the development and strengthening of the military security of the Region through specialist activities and research in the discipline of security, defence and management studies, where he had a lecture on the future of EU defence between strategic autonomy and enhanced partnership.
