During the working session the Military Representatives of Chiefs of Defence of the EU countries discussed, in particular, options to enhance the efficiency and robustness of European Union Training Missions.
“Increasing the cooperation with other actors, adapting the posture to balance between training effect and risk and better employing existing and envisaged financial instruments to build the capacities of local actors clearly appears as an indirect measure for contributing to the force protection and to the effectiveness of the EU training missions.” stated the Chairman during the discussion.
In the margins of the meeting, the Committee had also the opportunity to attend a thematic seminar on the role of digitalization and artificial intelligence in the defense sector.
“Nowadays we need to deal with a magmatic operational environment in which the multinational, unpredictable and transnational threats stand as a global menace that no single Country can underestimate”, highlighted the Chairman during his welcome and opening remarks.
“In this endeavor – added General Graziano - the Digitalization and AI applied to Defense is a decisive factor which will increasingly shape the character of warfare in the years to come but that is already affecting our present.”
The Away Days represented also a great opportunity for the Military Committee to be informed on the main priorities of the Finnish Presidency.
