Traineeships in Delegations

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Turkey?

What we offer?

A traineeship of 6 months within the Press, Information and Communication Section of the EU Delegation to Turkey, starting in June 2019.

The Press, Information and Communication section ensures that the EU and its values are promoted among the Turkish population, that information is disseminated about the EU's actions in Turkey, especially as part of Turkey's accession process, and that myths and disinformation are effectively dispersed. Currently, the Delegation's Press, Information and Communication team comprises seven members.

Main tasks:

  • Support the team with the preparation, implementation and follow-up of events organised by the Delegation (both internal and external) including, inter alia, 9 May, International Days, EU Human Rights Film festival etc
  • Liaise with operational teams across the EU Delegation in order to facilitate the collection and preparation of material for public diplomacy events

Additional requirements that would be an asset

  • Knowledge of Turkish is a strong asset
  • Hands on knowledge of social media platforms and facilities available is an asset
  • Experience with event organisation, communication campaigns, and/or similar information and communication activities is welcome

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
