L’UE intensifie son engagement stratégique avec la région indo-pacifique, une région vitale. Le poids économique, démographique et politique croissant de la région en fait un acteur clé pour ce qui est de façonner un ordre international fondé sur des règles et répondre aux défis mondiaux. Avec cette nouvelle stratégie, l’UE vise à contribuer à la stabilité, à la sécurité, à la prospérité et au développement durable de la région, conformément aux principes de la démocratie, de l’état de droit, des droits de l’homme et du droit international.




The EU is stepping up its strategic engagement with the vital Indo-Pacific region. The region’s growing economic, demographic, and political weight makes it a key player in shaping the rules-based international order and in addressing global challenges. With this new strategy, the EU aims to contribute to the region’s stability, security, prosperity and sustainable development, in line with the principles of democracy, rule of law, human rights and international law.


Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020, the EU, EU Member States and European financial institutions, as Team Europe, have disbursed €34 billion in support to partner countries in addressing the pandemic and its consequences, delivering on its promises with concrete results. This disbursement already exceeds by far the initial €20 billion Team Europe support package pledged in spring 2020, which has now increased to €46 billion.
