"It is with indignation and deep sadness that I have learnt the news about the brutal murder of Boris Nemtsov, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation, former Governor of Nizhny Novgorod and one of the leaders of Russia's liberal opposition. He was killed just before a demonstration against the effects of the economic crisis and the conflict in Ukraine which he was organising for 1 March.

The EU welcomes today's announcement - at a joint press conference by the Government and the HDP - of Abdullah Öcalan's call to the PKK to hold an extraordinary congress to decide to lay down arms in the Spring. 

Les directeurs politiques du groupe E3/UE+3 et leurs homologues iraniens se réuniront le 5 mars 2015 à Montreux en vue de poursuivre leurs efforts diplomatiques visant à trouver une solution globale à long terme à la question du nucléaire iranien. La réunion sera présidée par Mme Helga Schmid, directrice politique de l'UE.

Elle sera précédée par une série de réunions bilatérales des membres du groupe E3/UE+3 et de l'Iran qui commenceront le 2 mars 2015.


The Political Directors of the E3/EU+3 and Iran will meet on 5 March 2015 in Montreux to continue their diplomatic efforts towards reaching a long-term, comprehensive solution to the Iranian nuclear issue. The meeting will be chaired by EU Political Director Helga Schmid.
The meeting will be preceded by a series of bilateral meetings of members of the E3/EU+3 and Iran starting on 2nd March 2015.


Mme Federica Mogherini, haute représentante de l'Union pour les affaires étrangères et la politique de sécurité et vice-présidente de la Commission européenne, a eu un entretien téléphonique aujourd'hui avec M. Ivica Dačić, président en exercice de l'OSCE, premier vice-premier ministre et ministre des affaires étrangères de la Serbie.


Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, spoke on the phone today with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić.

They discussed in particular the ongoing crisis in eastern Ukraine, the need for full implementation of the Minsk agreements and the concrete measures the EU can take to support the challenging work of the OSCE.


I was pleased to welcome the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, in Brussels today. We discussed the progress in our bilateral relationship following the signature of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Georgia in June of last year and the preparations of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga. The security situation in the region was also an important part of our agenda.

La visite qu'a effectuée ce jour à Bruxelles M. Chiril Gaburici, dont c'est le premier déplacement à l'étranger depuis sa prise de fonctions, constitue un signal important de la volonté politique de mener une coopération étroite avec l'Union européenne que continue de manifester la République de Moldavie.


Today's visit of Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici to Brussels, his first visit abroad after taking up office, is an important signal of the Republic of Moldova´s continued political will to pursue close cooperation with the European Union.
