The fourth European Union (EU) – Taiwan Human Rights Consultation took place on 15th July 2021 by video conference. The consultation, formally opened by EEAS Deputy Managing Director for Human Rights, Global & Multilateral Issues Kristin De Peyron, was co-chaired on the EU side by Luisa Ragher, Head of Human Rights Division, and Jonathan Hatwell, Head of Division for China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Mongolia, and on Taiwan side by Ping-Cheng Lo, Minister without Portfolio.
On Monday, 19 July, a high-level meeting of the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue will take place in Brussels. It will be facilitated by High Representative Josep Borrell and supported by EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčák. President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti will participate. There will be a statement to the media by the High Representative at the start of the meeting (around 14.00) and a statement to the media by the EU Special Representative after the conclusion of the meeting (around 18:00).

The EU, together with partners, contributes to these efforts and supports a broad range of sustainable connectivity projects in Central Asia and Afghanistan. Cross border cooperation, energy connections, as well as people-to-people contacts bring benefits to the countries of the region.
The European Union takes note of Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri recusing himself from government formation. The EU deeply regrets the persisting political stalemate in the country as well as the lack of progress in the implementation of urgent reforms.
Lebanon has remained without a fully empowered government for almost a year, which has precipitated an unprecedented financial and economic crisis, the dramatic consequences of which the Lebanese population continues to face.
Team Europe is working with the Timorese authorities to help preserve forests and to improve livelihoods of the rural communities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Timor-Leste’s National Day of Sandalwood and Forests the European Union, together with Germany and Portugal, launched the distribution of 70,000 seedlings that will improve lives, bolster biodiversity, and help to preserve the environment.
Mercredi, le régime biélorusse a lancé une nouvelle attaque de grande ampleur contre des voix indépendantes du pays. Les perquisitions effectuées dans des maisons privées et des bureaux visaient une longue liste de groupes et d'organisations actifs dans les domaines des droits de l'homme, de l'éducation et de la politique, ainsi que des associations caritatives et des groupes de réflexion. Des défenseurs des droits de l'homme et d'autres militants ont été arrêtés.

Ператрусы па месцы жыхарства і ў офісах былі нацэлены на доўгі спіс праваабарончых, адукацыйных і палітычных груп і арганізацый, дабрачынных устаноў і аналітычных цэнтраў. Былі затрыманы праваабаронцы і іншыя актывісты.
