You will find here below some important information on categories of contracts depending on their estimated contract value and on how to participate in a call for tenders
The European External Action Service (EEAS) including the EU Delegations are subject to the provisions of the Financial Regulation applicable to the general budget of the EU, its Rules of Application, and the EU directives relating to the coordination of procedures for the award of public contracts.
Contracts for the purchase of goods, services and works above EUR 1.000 are subject to a call for tenders. Depending on the estimated contract value, there are the following categories of contracts:
Low and middle-value calls for tenders are subject to ex-ante publicity on the EEAS or EU Delegations websites at Tenders. Economic operators interested to participate in a specific call for tenders must only send their contact details (business name, postal address, e-mail address) to the contracting authority via e-mail by the fixed deadline. The EEAS or the EU Delegation will then invite to tender all the economic operators which expressed their interest to participate within the given deadline. Please note that only the tenders received by the economic operators directly invited to tender by the EEAS or the EU Delegation (those which received the invitation to tender by e-mail, post or courier) will be evaluated.
High-value calls for tenders have to be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Information on how to submit a tender will be published in a contract notice when the tender is launched.
