43 Russian CSOs received grants to support elderly people and adults with disabilities

43 civil society organizations, working in 25 regions of Russia, have received grants under the project “EC solidarity with the Russian civil society: assistance to elderly people and adults with disabilities” funded by the European Union and implemented by Charitable Foundation for Philanthropy Development CAF Russia.

The total grant funding amounted to over 39 million roubles. This will allow provision of assistance to over 6,700 people in vulnerable situation.

The grantees’ actions include, for instance, no-contact delivery of food, medicines, hygiene products and individual protection items, as well as online trainings, medical and legal counselling, and support to disadvantaged elderly people and people with disabilities. The actions are widely spread all over Russia – from big cities, such as Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and others, to small towns and settlements, for instance Gorno-Altaisk, Zakamensk, Sosnovka, and others.

Apart from the EU, the key donor of the fund, individual contributions were made by Belgium, Estonia, Italy, France, Luxemburg and Switzerland.
