A group of Croatia's Ban Josip Jelačić War College students led by Lieutenant General Slavko Baric, the Military Academy Commander visited Brussels, April 13-14 2016. The visit was part of the College’s l Studies Program, and allows to familiar students with the operation and decision making process of the EU's crisis management structures and the command and operation of NATO.
At the EEAS Crisis Management and Planning Directorate the War College students were welcomed by Director Gabor Iklody, who delivered a lecture on actual CSDP issues; the role, place and tasks performed by CMPD and answered the visitors' question. Apart from Croatian students the group also consisted of a Serbian and a Macedonian officer. Colonel Martin Starcevic, Croatia's Deputy Milrep for EU and Captain (Navy) Milan Zunic, Deputy Milrep for NATO also participated at the event.
The Ban Josip Jelačić War College was established in 1998. It is the senior professional military school military school in the Republic of Croatia with aim to train officers for carrying out the highest duties in the domain of national security and defence.
