TITLE: Webinar: “The horizons for women’s political participation in Kuwait”
The Delegation of the European Union to the State of Kuwait and to the State of Qatar is pleased to inform that the Webinar “The horizons for women’s political participation in Kuwait” will take place 13 – 15 July 2020 in the framework of the EU-Kuwait cooperation.
The event is a three-day Webinar with the objective to strengthen women's political participation.
During the first day of the Webinar, we will focus on the general policy framework, the opportunities available to women and the support provided by the State to encourage a higher participation of women in politics and leadership positions. This is as a follow-up to the EU-Kuwait ad-hoc informal human rights dialogue.
The second and third day of the event will be devoted to training of female candidates who would like to stand for election, with the aim to strengthen their skills in the areas of campaigning and how to manage political campaigns, advocacy and public speaking.
The Webinar is co-organised with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and the Women’s Research and Studies Center at the College of Social Sciences in Kuwait University.
The webinar is open to female candidates interested to stand for election. The deadline for expressions of interest to participate in the 2nd and 3rd training days of the Webinar is 3rd July 2020.
Applications should be sent to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org They should include a short CV in English and Arabic (1 page), indicating your contact details as well as your motivation for participation and information as to where you wish to stand for elections.
