Many tourists who were hiking in the mountains or visiting national parks found themselves stranded after the Government announced a lockdown on 24 March.
“Here in Nepal the EU Delegation has tried to facilitate the efforts of the member states, coordinating with them, by drawing up a database of all EU citizens stranded in Nepal who wish to return home. We did so by prioritising them according to vulnerability, that is their age, medical condition, families with young children and so on”, explained the Ambassador to the EU Delegation in Nepal, Veronica Cody.
