18.02.2020

In commemorating Human Rights Day 2019 under the theme "Youth Standing up for Human Rights", the European Union in Malawi partnered with the Criminal Justice Legal Clinic of Chancellor College who through a series of sensitization meetings reached out to eight secondary schools across the country.

The purpose of these sensitization meetings was to give a platform to the youth to engage in dialogue of human rights. The students participated in a drawing competition to express their understanding of human rights related issues including abuses.

At the end of the event, five drawings were recognized for their creativity in pictorial display and relevance of the concept of relaying the human rights issues among other things. Muwemi Ndovie from Mary Mount Secondary School emerged the winner.
