Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Venezuela?

What we offer?

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Venezuela, starting in March/April 2020.

Description of the Press and Information Section:

Overall Purpose:

To develop, design and manage external and internal information and communication actions and projects in order to inform and promote EU  policies, programmes and activities concerning the Delegation to Venezuela. To co-ordinate relations with press and media under the authority of the HoD, under the supervision of the Head of Section, and in collaboration with the relevant DG services.

Main tasks:

  • Contribute to the setting-up, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of information, communication and publications strategies.
  • Define internal communication strategies.
  • Contributing to the Delegation’s press review.
  • Assisting the Section in the organisation of visibility events.
  • Assisting the section in the organization of the “Month of Europe” (May 2020).

Qualifications or special requirements: not mandatory

  • Very good command of English is required.
  • The incumbent must be able to demonstrate strong computer literacy notably for internet and web content production, webinars, and good management skills of social networks applications such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • Due to the current circumstances in Venezuela, familiarity with the country context and a host family in Caracas, is a prerequisite for any applicant from abroad.

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
