On 27 November 2019, the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) held their 3rd Policy Dialogue on Human Rights in Brussels, Belgium.
The Dialogue was held in an open and constructive atmosphere and provided an opportunity to discuss recent developments in ASEAN and the EU. The participants exchanged views on a broad range of human rights issues including independent national human rights institutions, freedom of expression, opinion and information as well as freedom of religion and belief. They also discussed issues related to women's rights, children's rights, juvenile justice, right to nationality, trafficking in human beings, impact of climate change on human rights, as well as business and human rights.
