The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 28 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.

The EU Delegation to Montenegro is responsible for analysing and reporting on political and economic developments, promoting reform progress, implementing and managing EU financial assistance and communicating with the public on EU matters. Our mission is to pursue EU policies and represent the Union in Montenegro in line with our Headquarters in Brussels.

 

In this context it intends to recruit a

Temporary worker in the Cooperation section

The successful candidate will be recruited under a competitive local contract of limited duration for 6 months as from 15 January 2020 (indicative date).

He/she will execute tasks related to research, analysis and reporting on the implementation of pre-accession financial assistance, with particular focus on programming, strategic planning, decentralised implementation system, reporting, aid effectiveness and Public Administration Reform in the Delegation.

Selection Criteria

Minimum Requirements:

  • Enjoys civil rights and permits for employment under local law;

  • Thorough knowledge of English;

  • University diploma in political sciences, economics, law, social affairs or related area;

  • At least 1 year professional experience in a relevant area;

Experience with European or international institutions and the experience with procurement procedures and methods of the EU are highly appreciated;

The procedure

After the deadline for applications, the applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee set up for this purpose. The Selection Committee will prepare a short-list of candidates who are considered to be the most suitable for the post on the basis of a preliminary assessment of the information provided in their application letter and the supporting documents. The short-listed candidates will be invited to an assessment phase which may include an interview if necessary – during this phase, the Selection Committee will assess the suitability of the candidates for the post.

The candidates who have not been short-listed will not be contacted individually; however, the Delegation will use the same means of publication as for this Vacancy Notice to inform the remaining candidates once the recruitment procedure has been completed and that a candidate has (or has not) been recruited.
