Evaluation results of the Culture at Work Africa 2nd Call for Proposals have been published, with projects from Uganda among winning entries

Culture at Work Africa, co-funded by the European Union, announces the evaluation results of its 2nd call for proposals. 

The Call was launched on January 2019 with deadline 15th April 2019. Of 232 applications received from 15 African countries, 112 proposals complied with the eligibility criteria and were therefore assessed by the Culture at Work Africa Project Steering Committee. 

Following the evaluation process, the Project Steering Committed has selected 20 projects for the award of sub-grants. The lead applicants of the awarded projects are based in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon , Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Mali, Tanzania, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Uganda and Zimbabwe. A further nine projects proposals have been included in a reserve list.

Uganda made the cut on the list of 20 winning projects, with a winning entry submitted by FOTEA/Uganda Press Photo Award, in partnership with Makerere University Department of Journalism and Communication.

During implementation of the seleted projects, Culture at Work Africa will carry out a wide range of activities to support the grant beneficiaries develope their professional skills and networking capacities.
