The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 28 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.
We offer a post of Secretary. Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation. Upon recruitment, the successful candidate will occupy a specific job function as Secretary – this job function may be changed in accordance with the needs of the Delegation. Under this job function the successful candidate will serve as support in the fields of protocol affairs, general secretarial duties, and back-up of the Head of Delegation (HoD) Secretariat. He/she will provide administrative and logistical support for VIP visits, conferences, meetings and for events at the Residence of the HoD, liaise with Israeli authorities on diplomatic, protocol and consular issues, have good oral and written communication skills, able to work under pressure and respond quickly to new demands, has an eye for detail, is open-minded and has diplomatic skills.

- The weekly working hours are 37.5h and the working week is Monday to Friday
- The office is located in Ramat Gan
- The starting gross basic monthly salary is 11,212 ILS and is subject to taxation in Israel
We look for a candidate fulfilling following minimum requirements
- Proactive, team player, ready to assist others, quick problem solving and solution orientation
- Understanding of protocol and diplomatic matters and environment
- Completed secondary level education
- Fluent in Hebrew and English (speaking, reading, writing)
- 2 years' experience in similar duties
- An Israeli citizenship or a valid work permit for Israel
Following could be considered an asset:
- Knowledge of other EU languages would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the European Union

The preselected candidate will be interviewed and might be requested to pass a written test.

If selected, the candidate will be required all supporting documents proving Israeli nationality/or permit of employment under local law, diplomas and professional experience declared in the CV.
After the deadline for applications, the applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee set up for this purpose. The Selection Committee will prepare a short-list of candidates who are considered to be the most suitable for the post on the basis of a preliminary assessment of the information provided in their application letter and the supporting documents. The short-listed candidates will be invited to an assessment phase which may include an interview if necessary - during this phase, the Selection Committee will assess the suitability of the candidates for the post.
The candidates who have not been short-listed will not be contacted individually; however, the Delegation will use the same means of publication as for this Vacancy Notice to inform the remaining candidates once the recruitment procedure has been completed and that a candidate has (or has not) been recruited.
