Security incidents and intercommunity conflicts have spiked in Central Mali in the first half of 2019, killing nearly 200 people.

The joint objective of the United Nations and the European Union in Mali remains to help the Malian Government and all Malians to consolidate stability, including through the implementation of the peace agreement, advance in development and good governance, as well as further engagement in the regional context notably by supporting the G5 Sahel and its Joint Force.
