Organized on the eve of the 72nd World Health Assembly, the "Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge" served as a celebration of the importance of health and as a recognition of the role of global health hub that plays Geneva. The EU team was composed by more than 70 persons, including EU Ambassador Walter Stevens, walking and running between international and touristic landmarks of Geneva.
The First Lady of Kenya, Ms. Margaret Kenyatta, was among the high-level invitees attending the 2019 edition of the Walk the Talk. In her speech, she called on the realization of the universal health coverage (UHC) all around the world, in order to ensure the concrete implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On the Place des Nations, the European Union had a stand promoting the Universal Health Coverage Partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO). Material distributed served at raising knowledge about the UHC Partnership, which fosters dialogue on strategic planning and health systems governance. Currently, the UHC Partnership, funded by the European Commission, comprises 28 partner countries around the world, with 17 more having requested to join.
