FUNDED TRAINEESHIPS FOR YOUNG GRADUATES AT THE EU PERMANENT MISSION TO THE WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION (WTO) IN GENEVA

Are you a young graduate interested in international trade? Are you curious to learn more about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Mission represents EU interests and values within the World Trade Organization (WTO)?

 

What we offer?

2 traineeships of maximum 5 months each, within a team of several staff members at the EU Mission to the WTO in Geneva, starting as from September 2019. The exact start and end of the traineeships – as well as the duration of same - will be agreed with the successful candidates

Main tasks: 

  • Research and analysis relating to the legal, economic and political aspects of the WTO 
  • Attending internal and external meetings, conferences, etc. relating to the work of the Mission
  • Note-taking and reports

Qualifications or special requirements: 

  • You are a young graduate with a B.A. or preferably a Masters university degree in a discipline directly relevant to international trade, law or economics   
  • Previous experience in EU affairs and/or international trade is an asset

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
