Traineeships in Delegations

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Angola?


What we offer?

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information (PPI) Section of the EU Delegation to Angola, starting in September 2019.

The EU Delegation to Angola is responsible for the conduct of official relations between Angola and the European Union. In all matters relating to the European Union, the Delegation works closely with the diplomatic missions of the EU Member States. Through its delegations all over the world, the EU plays an important global role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development co-operation and working with international partners and organisations.

Main tasks:

  • Participate and contribute to the preparation and implementation of public diplomacy activities of the EU Delegation.
  • Assist in the Section's research and reporting on domestic issues in Angola.
  • Handle specific portfolios assigned and report on progress made on a regular basis.
  • Assist in setting up meetings and working groups.
  • Content development for Delegation’s social media.


Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Relevant University degree is subjects such as Political Science, International Relations, law or economy.
  • Good knowledge of English, French or any other official European Union language
  • Ability to listen, to consult and to share information and ideas.
  • Capacity to focus on priorities and to organise work and deliver on time.

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance; accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
