New ACP-EU Partnership - Chief negotiators conclude successful series of regional consultations, culminating with African leaders' meeting

On May 3, 2019, in Eswatini, Chief negotiators Neven Mimica and Robert Dussey met with African Ministers to discuss the African pillar of the future partnership between the EU and 79 countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP).

The joint press release relates to the broad Africa consultation that took place last Friday afternoon (03 May), in the context of the negotiations of the future partnership between the EU and 79 countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP). 

These negotiations are often referred to as “post-Cotonou”. 

On Friday, the Chief negotiators, Commissioner Neven Mimica and the Hon. Robert Dussey met with African Ministers to discuss future EU-Africa relations under the future ACP-EU Partnership. 

The objective was to discuss specific needs and priorities of the region, while exploring how to best address them in the future agreement.
