Showcasing recent European healthcare technologies and medical devices to Korean companies, the EU Gateway to Korea ‘Healthcare & Medical Technologies’ 2019 exhibition took place over two days from March 12–13 at the Seoul COEX InterContinental, Hotel’s Harmony Ballroom.

Comprising up to 50 European hidden champions with outstanding expertise and technological competitiveness in the healthcare and medical devices sector, the event introduced a variety of products from professional medical equipment for hospitals to home healthcare products employing state-of-the-art ICT.

Besides medical devices, various medical services and systems will be highlighted including an AI-based operation system that can reduce the time required for diagnosis and treatment of patients, and a solution that automates sanitary management of textiles and garment used in hospitals.

Other medical devices and apparatus included pre-clinical testing service that uses complex mouse models for drug evaluation, software that provides accurate real-time ultrasound diagnoses for medical professionals and a dental product that uses a dry-type electrolytic polishing device to maintain the shape of dentures, prosthetics, and implants.

A variety of medical rehabilitation products and supplementary technologies for the handicapped and elderly was also introduced, such as a patient bed for use in both hospitals and homes, communication devices based on AI technology, and a training device for rehabilitation.

This “EU Healthcare & Medical Technologies Exhibition” is a part of EU Gateway to Korea that is funded and managed by the European Union (EU) to support long-term business partnerships between the companies from the 28 EU member states and Korean counterparts.
