The overall objective of the project is to increase access to sustainably improved ecological sanitation systems to school children in peri-urban and urban areas of Lesotho. The project provides basic sanitation infrastructure with a keen focus on the most vulnerable. It also promotes hygiene projects and behaviour change through participatory methods. The project targeted schools that either were not equipped with any sanitation facility; schools with non-functional sanitation facilities or unhygenic latrines and schools linked to orphanages without safe sanitation facilities and that play a central role in community.
