Federica Mogherini meets Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh

High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini met this evening Foreign Minister of Jordan, Nasser Judeh, ahead of Monday's Foreign Affairs Council where the Minister will join his European Union's colleagues for a discussion on EU-Jordanian relations and the situation and challenges in the broader Middle East region.

The High Representative and the Minister discussed the ongoing refugee crisis and Jordanian outstanding efforts in hosting a large number of refugees, from Syria but also elsewhere. In the run-up to the Syrian Crisis Donors' Conference in London on 4 February, intensifying cooperation with Jordan and promoting its economic development was also discussed, as well as Jordan's constructive and active role in the region, and in particular in the International Support Group for Syria.

The High Representative and the Minister also touched upon the bilateral relationship between the EU and Jordan with a view of further strengthening it.
