The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini spoke today by phone with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman.
They looked forward to taking stock of progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement, including its Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, at the next meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council. The High Representative emphasised the importance of continued progress on the reform agenda, particularly in the establishment of the High Anti-Corruption Court, commending Prime Minister Groysman for his government's commitment. This is key also in terms of the EU's Macro-Financial Assistance, for which the Commission and Ukraine signed last Friday a Memorandum of Understanding for up to €1 billion.
High Representative Mogherini and Prime Minister Groysman agreed to remain in regular contact in the run-up to the next Association Council.
