This brochure contains a number of documents that illustrate the recent developments in the political and security dialogue between the European Union (EU) and Central Asia. It focuses on the period after June 2007, when the European Union Central Asia Strategy for a New Partnership was adopted. It marks an upgrade in the relations between the EU and Central Asia. The EU has been engaged with the five countries in Central Asia from the very moment they gained their independence in the early 1990s.
