PAID TRAINEESHIP FOR YOUNG GRADUATES AT THE EU DELEGATION TO THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE WITHIN THE POLITICAL SECTION

Traineeships in Delegations

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations?  
Are you curious to learn more about a work in a diplomatic mission and how an EU Delegation represents EU interests and values?

 

What do we offer?

A traineeship of 6 months within the Political Section of the Delegation of the EU in Strasbourg.

 

Main tasks:

  • Contribute to the compilation of EUDEL weekly report
  • Participate in the Committee of Ministers deputie's meetings and the EU HoMs coordination meetings, preparing summaries and reporting
  • Attend meetings, reporting and following key dossiers of the Rapporteur Groups:
    • GR-EXT -  External Relations – dealing with cooperation of CoE with the EU, OSCE, UN, neighbouring regions and observer states;
    • GR-SOC – Social and Health Questions – dealing with the European Social Charter, the European Code of Social Security, European Social Cohesion Platform, social inclusion, ROMA, migrants, persons with disabilities, Children's rights, drug abuse, quality of medecines;
    • GR-C – Education, Culture, Sport, Youth and Environment – dealing with Education for Democratic Citizenship, Religious Dimension of Intercultural Dialogue, Cultural Heritage, Sport Integrity;
    • GR-PBA – Programme, Budget and Administration;

 

General tasks:

  • Follow in general the activity of the CoE and subsidiary bodies, namely the Committee of Ministers, European Court to Human Rights, PACE, Congress of Regional and Local Authorities, Commissioner for Human Rights, Venice Commission, etc;
  • Research and preparation of documents and notes;
  • Drafting meeting minutes, speaking points, briefings and notes
  • Get access to meetings, press-conferences and other events that could be of interest;
  • Assistance to the organisation of events and official visits

 

The interns will have a Traineeship Adviser, responsible for their guidance, monitoring and evaluation.

Before applying you are requested to examine the general eligibility criteria

for traineeships (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 - Paid traineeship for young graduates)

 

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. However costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation and visa must be borne by the trainee.

 

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
