EU EOM Timor-Leste 2017: “Timorese authorities organized well-administered, transparent and inclusive elections in a peaceful environment”

Today, the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Timor-Leste 2017 released its final report, with a comprehensive assessment of the 20 March presidential and the 22 July legislative elections. The report contains 22 recommendations to improve future election processes.
The Chief Observer, Mr Alojz Peterle, Member of the European Parliament, presented today the preliminary findings of the European Union Election Observation Mission on the 19 November Mayoral Runoffs in Kosovo.

The 42 short-term obseervers arrived in Pristina on Tuesday, 17 October and after 2 days of breifing they have been deployed to their areas of observation.
The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to The Gambia has released its Final Report, providing a comprehensive assessment of the electoral process against The Gambia’s laws, as well as its regional and international commitments to democratic elections. The Final Report also includes a list of 31 recommendations for consideration by the authorities and other electoral stakeholders on how to improve future elections, granting the electorate full enjoyment of fundamental rights and freedoms.
