40 short-term observers are deployed to observe the 7 March election

Short-term observers have been deployed all across Sierra Leone on 4 March. They will follow the Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Councils elections on 7 March.

The EU Election Observation  Mission in Sierra Leone has deployed 40 short-term observers to the 16 districts of Sierra Leone. On 7 March, they will observe the opening of polling stations, the voting, the closing of polling stations, the counting and the tallying procedures. Before their departure, the observers followed a two-day training on political, electoral, legal and media related-issues. The short-term observers work in pair of different genders and nationalities. They will join 28 long-term observers who are already following the electoral process in  the field, in all the districts of the country.
