Statement by the Spokesperson on Lesotho's subscription to the Hague Code of Conduct against Ballistic Missile Proliferation

The Kingdom of Lesotho announced this week its subscription to the Hague Code of Conduct against ballistic missiles proliferation (HCoC), hence becoming the 139th member.

This is an important step towards the universalisation and effective implementation of the Code. We expect all States which have not yet subscribed to the Code of Conduct, in particular those possessing ballistic missile capabilities and space launch vehicles, to follow this example.

The HCoC, adopted in 2002, is the most important multilateral transparency and confidence-building instrument related to ballistic missiles. The European Union strongly supports the HCoC, with all 28 Member States being members of the Code.
