"The announcement of the formation of a new and inclusive government under the leadership of Prime Minister Khaled Bahah is a critical step to make headway in much needed economic and political reforms towards the successful conclusion of the transition.
It is now important for all political actors to engage constructively to support the new cabinet to implement decisive reforms for the benefit of all Yemenis, and take action to improve fiscal sustainability and fight corruption in the public administration.
The EU is committed to continue supporting Yemen in its transition. The full implementation of the Peace and National Partnership Agreement and of its security annex is now critical to offer a way out of the current crisis, in line with the National Dialogue Conference's (NDC) outcomes and the Gulf Cooperation Council Initiative. I also call on the Constitutional Drafting Committee to quickly deliver a draft Constitution, which enshrines the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen and safeguards the values enunciated in the NDC outcomes."
