The call is composed of five lots corresponding to five key areas of human rights. The deadline for submitting concept notes is 9 November 2017 at 16:00 (Brussels time).
The first lot is for Human Rights Defenders and Human Rights organisations which are working on land and other natural resources-related rights, including ‘land grabbing’, climate change and indigenous peoples 'rights.
The second lot is devoted to promote projects dealing with the prevention of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. Forced labour and modern slavery is the fourth area addressed by this call with the objective of ensuring access to remedy for victims, accountability and prosecution of perpetrators.
The European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights also aims to promote and support the rights of persons with disabilities. To that end, proposals to promote and support the ratification, effective implementation and monitoring of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) are encouraged.
The fifth and final area of this call is to protect freedom of religion or belief with a particular focus on countries or situations where individuals are penalised for freely choosing their religion or belief.
