European Union External Action

Statement by the High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini on the attack carried out in Tunis on 24 November

This evening, Tunisia has once again been hit by terrorist violence. After Bamako, Paris, and Beirut, it is clear that terrorists are targeting Europe, Africa and the Arab world, and consequently the international community as a whole. We shall respond by joining forces.

I would like to express the European Union's complete solidarity with the Tunisian people and authorities. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims.

The EU is at Tunisia's side, now more than ever. Since the attacks at the Bardo museum and in Sousse, we have strengthened our cooperation in the fight against terrorism, and increased our support for Tunisia's response to the socio-economic challenges it faces. The EU will spare no effort to ensure that the Tunisian people's aspiration for a democratic transition is fulfilled.
