There is political will and enough space for Cyprus deal, says Mogherini

European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini is again in Crans Montana from yesterday for the Conference on Cyprus, in a demonstration of the EU's full support for the UN-led process.

"I have seen that there is political will and enough space," Mogherini said today. "The European Union is here to fully support and to accompany this process and we hope for the best for today. I think there is a space."

Mogherini had bilateral meetings with UN Secretary General Guterres, his Special Representative for the Conference on Cyprus Mr. Eide, Greek Cypriot leader Mr. Nicos Anastasiades,  Turkish Cypriot leader Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, Greek Foreign Minister Mr. Nikos Kotzias and Turkish Foreign Minister Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The Conference on Cyprus reconvened on 28 June and the EU is present with a team to support the proceedings. The High Representative attended the opening working dinner on 27 June and today returned for the Plenary session chaired by the UN Secretary.
