High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini meets with Michael Bloomberg, United Nations Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change
Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, met this morning with Michael Bloomberg, United Nations Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change to discuss the need to bring forward engagement and cooperation on climate change.
In the discussion, High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini stressed that the European Union is not only fully committed to take its engagement on climate change forward, but is also building global alliances to make sure that state and non-state actors reaffirm their commitment to the Paris Agreement.
She underlined that the European Union will continue leading the way towards a greener and safer planet.
The High Representative and Michael Bloomberg agreed to meet again in September in New York City, in the margins of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
