Eastern Partnership Foreign Affairs Ministerial meeting discusses Summit preparations

Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the Eastern Partnership, in view of the 24 November Summit in Brussels.

On Monday 19th of June in the afternoon, the 8th Eastern Partnership Foreign Affairs Ministerial meeting took place in Luxembourg. The discussion focussed on the preparations for the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit, set to take place in Brussels on November 24th. In particular, Ministers supported the work on the 20 Deliverables for 2020 proposed by the EEAS and the Commission, in consultation with Member States and Partner countries.

The document highlights concrete milestones to be achieved by the Summit as well as other key deliverables for 2020 across the main areas of cooperation encompassing economic development, good governance, interconnectivity and people-to-people contacts, all of which contribute to the strengthening of Partner Countries' resilience.

The importance of strategic communication in the run-up to the Summit was also underlined, with the aim of highlighting the tangible results that the Eastern Partnership can bring to citizens.
