European Union Supports the 6th Edition of the Amman Jazz Festival
The European Union supports the Amman Jazz Festival, the single major event dedicated to jazz in Jordan, for a fifth consecutive year.
The festival will open on 23rd April with performances from European jazz groups ‘Sjaella’ from Germany and ‘Sinouj’ from Spain. The 24th April will see performances from the ‘Sonic Groove Society’ (Sweden) and ‘Manuel Rochman’ (France) and on the 25th April the ‘Filomena Campus Quartet’ (Italy) and ‘Shishani and the Namibian Tales’ (Netherlands), branding the first three nights of the festival truly European nights.
The European Union is based on cultural diversity, variety and dialogue. All forms of cultural exchanges are encouraged as a means to reach a better understanding between peoples and nations. On this occasion it is through a festival of jazz, a music style which is in itself the embodiment of fusion and multi-culturalism, that this is celebrated.
The Amman Jazz festival is an annual event organized by Orange-Red. The festival will be taking place from the 23rd April to the 26th April 2017 at the Haya Cultural Centre.
This support forms part of a broader programme of cultural events and activities in Jordan which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the EU National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) in Jordan whose members are: the British Council, the Austrian Embassy, Instituto Cervantes, Institut Français, Goethe-Institut, Embassy of Greece, Embassy of Romania and the Società Dante Alighieri.
