EU election observation mission to Honduras in 2013

At the invitation of the Government of Honduras, the European Union established a mission to observe the elections there on 24 November 2013.

Ulrike Lunacek, Member of the European Parliament, was Chief Observer. Over 100 observers from EU Member States as well as Norway were deployed throughout the country. They met with political parties, candidates, election officials, representatives of civil society and voters.

Their mandate included observation of the functioning of the electoral administration, campaign development, media coverage, the role of civil society, voting and the counting of votes, and the publication of provisional and final results.
