EU relations and cooperation with Anguilla are carried out both on bilateral and regional basis, the latter within the framework of the on-going EU-CELAC and EU-CARIFORUM dialogues.
A British Overseas Territory located in the northern part of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean region, Anguilla has a surface area of 132 km² and a population of roughly 16 500. Its capital is The Valley and the small economy depends primarily on tourism, international finance, construction, fishing and public services.
Under the 11th EDF €14 million has been allocated for cooperation with Anguilla. Along with the EU, the Government is in the process of determining which sectors should be chosen for cooperation.
