The EU Election Follow-Up Mission (EFM) was deployed to Paraguay in April 2015 to assess the progress made in the implementation of the 2013 EU Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) recommendations to improve future electoral processes in Paraguay and to include election observation activities in a broader and more efficient exercise in democracy building.

The EU Election Follow-Up Mission (EFM) was deployed to Paraguay in April 2015 to assess the progress made in the implementation of the 2013 EU Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) recommendations to improve future electoral processes in Paraguay and to include election observation activities in a broader and more efficient exercise in democracy building.

The EU EOM 2013 recommendations aimed at strengthening the independence and transparency of the electoral administration and the public service, the control of political party financing, the confidence in the voter registration and election day processes as well as at increasing the participation and representation of women in public life, amongst others. Since the 2013 general elections there has been significant progress in the implementation of the EU EOM recommendations.
