It is the broadest Eastern Partnership Platform covering many sectorial polices, such as SMEs, trade, environment and climate change, transport, employment, agriculture and statistics.
The 16th meeting, chaired by Directorate General Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, was attended by six Eastern Partnership countries, Member States, EEAS, DG TRADE, DG ENV and CLIMA, DG MOVE, DG CNETC, DG NEAR, and international partners.
The meeting was devoted to three topics: recent key political events, relaunch of the Trade Panel under Platform 2, and social economy and social entrepreneurship.
On this occasion participants reported on the follow-up and next steps with regard to the Ministerial Meeting on Connecting TEN-T with Neighbouring Countries, the 7th Eastern Partnership Informal Dialogue on Economic Reforms, the EU-EaP Ministerial meeting on Environment and Climate Change, and the EaP Ministerial Meeting on the Digital Community. The meeting also served as an opportunity to relaunch the Trade Panel and discuss its scope, objectives, and targets.
At the session dedicated to social economy and social entrepreneurship, participants discussed the concept of social and solidarity economy, discussed the results of recently published report "Social enterprises and the social economy going forward" presented by the Commission Expert Group on Social Entrepreneurship (GECES) and shared experiences and practices in the field of Social and Solidarity Economy in their respective countries.
