The EU has approved, under the EU Trust-Fund for stability and migration in Africa, a project with a total of €13 million to support creation of employment opportunities and skills development in Eritrea.

The project aims to create an enabling environment for employment creation for young people. It will do so in particular through multiple vocational training actions and development of entrepreneurial skills in manufacturing sectors of the economy, and through supporting the development of national labour policies and the creation of a more conducive business environment.

Background

The Fund is made up of over €2.4 billion from the EU budget and European Development Fund, combined with contributions from EU Member States and other donors.
