Each EU mission works in the framework of a comprehensive approach. The mission works in agreement and coordination with the EU Delegations in the same area and in the framework of EU regional policies.
EU Ambassador Daniela Tramacere (second from right) today participated in the switching to activate the use of the solar photo-voltaic system at the Forensic Laboratory in Barbados. The laboratory was the first of 16 government buildings that will be retrofitted with solar panels, thanks to a 5 million euro grant from the European Union and a US$17 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank. On 25 May 2018, the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entered into force. It is meant to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect EU citizens' data privacy and to trigger more secure individual data privacy amongst organizations working with personal data of EU citizens. The GDPR not only applies to stakeholders located within the EU, but it also concerns companies and/or public authorities that process and hold personal data of EU citizens, even if the entity is based outside of the EU.
The Delegation of the European Union to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean States, the OECS and CARICOM/CARIFORUM based in Barbados is seeking to recruit an experienced, motivated, and reliable person to fill the Local Agent position of Project Officer in the Cooperation Section (Regional Cooperation and Trade).
Education policy and administrative management
The main objective of this programme is to promote and implement the use of Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) measures through the creation of the Public Sector Smart Energy (PSSE) Programme.
