AUSTRALIA - List of EEAS calls for tenders for the current year
The European Union Delegation to Australia has partnered with the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival in 2017 to underline its unwavering support on human rights and its commitment to cultural relations.
The EU's Ambassador to Australia, Sem Fabrizi, said the EU was proud to stand by creative film makers, artists and personalities who keep human rights at the heart of conversations in Australia.
The EU Delegation to Australia, together with the European Investment Bank regional office for the Pacific based in Sydney, the Europe Australian Business Council and the NSW European Union Parliamentary friendship group gather in Sydney on 8 May to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome while the Sydney Opera House is lit EU Blue.
Journalists are invited to apply for the 2017 European Union-QANTAS Journalist Award.
Now in its 25th year the award is open to an Australian journalist with more than three years working experience in print or electronic media. They will need to satisfy the selection panel that he or she would benefit from a working visit to the European Union institutions and two to three Member States. While the subject of the project proposal is open to the journalist's particular interests, it must be based on European themes relevant to an Australian audience.
The Australian Trade Minister has praised Europe as "incredibly successful" at the EU Delegation to Australia's celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.
The event was held at Parliament House in Canberra on Tuesday 21 May 2017 and drew a strong crowd that included Ministers, Members of Parliament, Senators, diplomats, journalists and other important stakeholders. It was co-hosted by the EU Delegation as well as the Italian Embassy to Australia and the Australia-EP Parliamentary Group.
The EUVP is jointly sponsored and administered by the European Parliament and the European Commission and has been in operation since 1974. Australia has participated in the programme since 1983 sending over 138 visitors to Europe during that time.
On the occasion of the European Union in Australia, the Italian Embassy in Australia partnering with the Australia European Union parliamentary Friendship Group to host an event at Australian Parliament house to celebrate the 60 year anniversary s
