The first of a series of training workshops for the staffers of the Lebanese Parliament was launched on 13 October by MP Yassine Jaber in the framework of the European Union-funded project "Support for Parliamentary Development in Lebanon." MP Jaber, the Chair of the Steering Committee of the project, confirmed the importance of the training sessions as key factors in building the capacities of the parliamentary staffers.

The training workshops will cover various issues such as ICT techniques, legislative drafting and legal scrutiny, etiquettes and protocol techniques, budget analysis for researchers, as well as training for media reporters accredited to the Parliament.

The "Support for Parliamentary Development in Lebanon" project aims to further enhance the Parliament’s efficiency in carrying out its functions and responsibilities through concrete activities targeting both Members of Parliament and parliamentary staff.
