Ambassador Didier Lenoir, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the International Organisations in Vienna, welcomed this year's participants in the United Nations Programme of Fellowships on Disarmament.

On 22 September 2016, Ambassador Didier Lenoir, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the International Organisations in Vienna, welcomed this year's participants in the United Nations Programme of Fellowships on Disarmament. Ambassador Lenoir gave a presentation on the history of the EU, historical achievements and future goals. He also elaborated on the role of the EU Delegation in Vienna within the European External Action Service (EEAS) and European Union politics.Thereafter, Attila Juhász, who was a UN Fellow on Disarmament himself some years ago, gave a more detailed overview on the EU’s activities in the field of Disarmament. During the interactive Q&A session, interesting discussions evolved which were continued over coffee and cookies afterwards.The United Nations Programme of Fellowship on Disarmament aims at the training and specialization of national officials, particularly in the developing countries, and to enable them to participate more effectively in international deliberating and negotiating fora.If you are interested in visiting the Delegation with a group to learn more about EU decision-making and our Delegation's work in Vienna, please contact Annika Alsdorf: annika.alsdorf@ext.eeas.europa.eu.
